Brown Derby II- Orangeburg, SC July 6, 2013

Food so good, it makes u wanna slap your momma!!!
Brown Derby II in my opinion is a must stop if your visiting or passing thru Orangeburg, SC. Located at 1399 Belleville Rd in a small store front building, you can find some of THEE!!! BEST!!! soulfood & barbecue.
On my vacation trip with Alonda and the family down to South Carolina all my girlfriend raved about was visiting the Brown Derby, and how she couldn’t come all this way and not stop and eat at this restaurant and how good it was. Being as this was my first trip to Orangeburg let alone South Carolina, I didn’t know what to expect (Alonda has been here before, being as this is her mother’s home town). I’ve heard her rave about boiled peanuts and oh how good they are, I tried them I didn’t like them at all. So I didn’t know what to expect because she raved about this place too. When we got there its just a store front with some tables and a couple of booths. Nothing fancy at all. You walked up and you ordered your food from the items inside the warmer. All the food looked so good, nothing that I saw gave me that “Eeeee what’s that?” reaction. And there was plenty to choose from. After speaking to the server who was so nice and inquiring about different items available, I picked the beef short ribs, yellow rice, and green beans. And man were they all good, the beef was fork tender and tasted so, so good. The rice was good too, and the string beans were excellent!! After I ate all my food, it was so good I wanted seconds! Who does that? How many times do you go out to a restaurant and eat and before you leave you have to order seconds??!! Lol!! Well I did and so does Alonda. She had ordered the chopped barbecue, mac n cheese and candied yams. And you know I had to taste it all! Lol! And man was that chopped barbecue was good! If you are ever in Orangeburg,SC this is for surely a place you should find. You will be fully satisfied with the many choices available on the menu. Everything I had or tasted in my first visit here was very good. The service was southernly friendly, everything was done with a smile. The ladies working the front counter serving were more than happy to answer any questions about all the dishes. The price is very resonable and you get your money’s worth for sure. This is what I would refer to as a dive, but it’s worth going in head first here with a deep menu and great cooking. I’m sure if your looking for beef, pork, or even barbecue spaghetti with that traditional southern cooking taste, you can find that here. This is truly a must visit and I’m giving them ♡♥♥♥♥ 4 out 5 hearts!
